These treads are a godsend. If an overweight, 70 yr old granny with a bad hip can install these on a front porch with 8 wooden steps, ANYONE can. And all the written safety features and pictures are not hyperbole, Handi Treads is speaking the plain truth on how well these treads work. My tenants are delighted with the yellow color (easy to see for their sense of safety). I got the yellow because they were cheaper as an overrun, despite the fact that my porch is grayish blue stained wood. I am SO happy after spending 16 years putzing with grit paper and rubber treads that wore down. I left the same high rating on Amazon, where I discovered the product, but when I found that they were manufactured just north of me, I ordered direct from the factory. Again, so proud, so pleased and so relieved for the safety they provide.

We installed the 48″ Aluminum Handy Treads, as per the instructions, about a month ago; and finally got some challenging weather with snow and ice. They work great! – I searched a lot, and there was no other product that made sense for this outdoor application, in my opinion. (Didn’t want to use glues and such here.) We use these stairs every day. It’s really nice to have a product that just plain works. Our dog will not go down the interior steps to go for a walk, so the outside detached steps are his exit to go out in the woods. The detached steps are shrouded by a huge pine tree, therefore, they are slimy when wet or not and very dangerous to traverse. An online search for info to make the steps safe led me to Handi-Ramps. I even contacted the company for info on dogs walking on them and no problems were noted. When I called the company I had the great pleasure of having my questions answered by the one and only, Bill Dorn. What a hoot this guy is; very informative and helpful and has an exquisite sense of humor. He was an absolute gem to work with and resolved any issues/questions I had to offer. My only complaint is with the screws, they stripped out easily and when I notified Bill, i received additional free screws, nice!! I also asked why they did not provide a bit that works great with the screws, as other screw companies, Hellman Power Pro Screws. He informed me that the info, I provided company name and bit size, was passed on to the proper department and here’s hoping they add a bit to reduce stripping out the screw head. The treads look great and Moses, our dog, hasn’t noticed any changes on the steps. Very happy with the product and especially the customer service.

Best non slip tread I have seen. I used some plastic ones before and they broke down after a few years. These have plenty of grip, the proper amount of screws, and quality sturdy metal construction. These have been on one rental unit for several years and still look and work great. I just ordered more for another rental unit I have in the 36″ size. It is terrible to slip down a set of stairs and even worse if someone else does and you are to blame. I feel much better with these on.
